ロッドのこの曲、アルバム「スーパースターはブロンドがお好き」のＢ面に収録されていて、よく聴きました！いきなりヴォーカルから始まります！
ロッドのヴォーカルがスピードの強弱あって聴かせますよね。

　僕はロッドで初めて聴いた曲ですが、オリジナルはフォー・トップスの1966年のヒットシングル。ソングライターはホランド＝ドジャー＝ホランドですね。1967年にはソウルチャートで2位、ビルボード・ホット100で6位、イギリスでも6位を記録しているようです。




◆“Standing in the shadows of love”  ＝ 愛の「影」に立っている…って難しい言い方、でもしゃれていますよね。 解釈すると…つまり2人（恋人？夫婦？）はまだ別れてはいないけれど、すでに愛が薄れてしまった場所に取り残されている…っていう感じじゃないのかな…。
