ちょっと解釈に時間がかかった曲です。
主人公と、その主人公が想いを寄せている相手
もう一度チャンスをくれ、と言っていることから、2人は以前は恋人どうしだったんでしょう。
だけど別れてしまい、その相手は別の恋人ができたんだけど、それもうまくいかず…。
そんな相手を時々見かけるけど、幸せそうには見えず悲しく思っている。
街のバーへ繰り出し、ちょっとは何か出会いがあったりしてもそれが恋に進むことはなく、ただただ無駄な夜を過ごすことを繰り返している。
主人公はまだその相手に想いを寄せているのだが、相手の心が癒されるのを待ってもう2年以上が経った。だけどそろそろ勇気を出して相手に言ってあげたいと思う。
「一人で無駄に過ごす夜はもう送らなくていいんだよ」…と。
