やっぱり1972年3位の「裏切者のテーマ」（Back Stabbers)と全米No.1になった“Love Train”が有名ですよね。（僕は1978年の“Use Ta Be My Girl”が懐かしいな。ちょっと「訛った？」タイトルも印象的です）

◆以前、音友のＡさんが“For The Love Of Money”をオフ会でコスプレもして（笑）紹介していただきました。（邦題‘緑色の神様’）
この曲と今回の“Put Your Hands Together”は同じアルバム「Ships Ahoy（暁光の船出）」…“Ships Ahoy”は奴隷船について歌った曲で、アルバムジャケットも奴隷船に乗っているメンバー達をイラストで描かれたています。
オージェイズのメンバーと、プロデューサーのギャンブル＆ハフが、音楽はビジネスと同時にメッセージを伝えるものと考えて、この社会的メッセージのあるアルバムを作成したとのこと。
そう考えると、この曲も“Love Train”と同様に世界中の人々の協力や団結を呼びかけるもの、なんだろうな。 1970 年代、この当時の社会的、政治的な状況から、公民権運動、平等を求める闘いがあり...Put Your Hands Together と呼びかけ歌うことは、ミュージシャンができる、彼らのやり方だったんでしょうね…。
