まだスティクスに“プログレ色“が残っていた頃…なんだな。
アルバム「コーナーストーン」は、トミー・ショウがリードを取るこの曲から始まりました。スティクス劇場のはじまりはじまり〜という感じです。

でも“Babe”の大ヒット（全米No1ヒットに！）から、バンドのなかではデニスの発言力が増していったんだな…。

冒頭のビデオ、キーボードのデニスは真ん中にいるけど、歌うトミーが脇で、皆がコーラスに参加して…バランスも悪くない。この頃のスティクス（パラダイス・シアターの前）を観てみたかったな。

“光をください“は人生を送る上で進むべき道を照らしてほしい、という意味と、コンサートの始まりでスポットライトをステージに当ててくれ！という両方の意味があるのかな、と思います。ライブのオープニングに相応しい曲と言えましょう！


“ライツ”は、米国ではシングル“Why Me”のB面に収録されましたが、英国やドイツではシングルカットされたようですね。ドイツでは35位という記録があります。
