日本では「幸せをつかむ歌」という邦題で2016年3月に上映されました。

　メリル・ストリープが主演を務め、実の娘メイミー・ガマーと母娘役で共演。リッキーのバンド仲間役をリック・スプリングフィールドが演じるヒューマン・ドラマです。往年のロックの名曲も聴かせてくれるようで、洋楽ファンのみなさんは必見ですよ(^^）/

「6」の"Cold One"はオリジナル曲で予告編のバックにかかってるのでなかなかいい曲ですな。まだ聴いていませんが、タイトルだけだと、ブルース・スプリングスティーン（5）、トム・ペティ&ハートブレイカーズ（1）、U2（8）、レディ・ガガ！（9）なんてのも入っていて楽しめそうですね。

◆"Drift Away"＝邦題「明日なきさすらい」は、様々なアーチストが取り上げています。

僕が最初に聴いたのはロッド・スチュワートのバージョン。アルバム「Atlantic Crossing」のFast Half（A面4曲め）に入っていましたね。

　オリジナルはJohn Henry Kurtz（ジョン・ヘンリー・クルツ）が1972年に歌ったようですが、この曲がヒットしたのブルース歌手のDobie Gray（ドビー・グレイ）のカバー（1973年）。全米5位（Billboard Hot100）になりました。

ところでこの歌のsongfactsに載っていた話。ドビー・グレイは最初にこの曲の"Gimme the beat boys and free my soul" の部分を聴いたときに "Gimme the Beach Boys," "Gimme the wheat boys"（シリアルのCM？）, "Gimme the peat moss," and "Gimme the meatballs."と聞き間違えた、と書いてあった。
ホントかな(^▽^;)

◆ビートのある音で、魂を自由にして。ロックン・ロールで我を忘れるほどに身を委ねよう…というこの曲。映画ではメリルが歌ってるので女性を主役にした和訳にしました。

ちなみに作者のメンター・ウィリアムスは、ポール・ウィリアムスの兄弟だそうです。ポール・ウィリアムスはカーペンターズの「愛のプレリュード (We've only just begun)」「雨の日と月曜日は (Rainy days and Mondays)」などの作者です。

◆そのカバーで大ヒット。やっぱこの歌声がいいね。Dobie Grayの"Drift Away".1973年全米5位のヒットに。



◆僕が「Drift Away」を最初に聴いたのはロッドのアルバム「アトランティク・クロッシング」からでした。
