ピアノの４つ打ちから入るこの曲。イントロのギターの入り方も好きだなあ。
トトのデビューアルバムは邦題「宇宙の騎士」。たしかにアルバムジャケットは宇宙空間に剣が浮いているようなアートワークではありましたが…(^▽^;)
"トト"のメンバーは皆スタジオ・ミュージシャンで、ボズのアルバム「シルク・ディグリーズ」に参加したスタジオ・ミュージシャンのうち、デヴィッド・ペイチ、デヴィッド・ハンゲイト、ジェフ・ポーカロの3人が、この時の共演をきっかけにTOTOを結成したと言われてますね。
◆「Hold The Line」は「電話を切らずにいること」。
曲のシチュエーションは....彼女と電話で話している。彼女はいろいろ世話してくれたり、二人の今後のことをいつ何をして、何か月、何年か後の将来設計のことでも話しかけてくる。でもこの男は「そんな決まったやり方じゃなくって…」「思った通りにならないのが愛じゃないの？」ってことが言いたいのかな…。男が逃げているともいえる(^▽^;)。

コンサートの前日 友人が とある音楽教室に行っていたのですが 同じフロアのスタジオでＴＯＴＯのメンバーがリハーサルしていたそうです
その友達はメンバーに「hello~」位は言えたそうです
携帯電話もない時代 私は後から聞かされて悔しかったぁ
この曲が出てきたとき、メンバーはボズ・スキャッグスのアルバム「シルク・ディグリーズ」の演奏をしている凄腕スタジオ・ミュージシャンだということで、ワクワク期待しながらファーストアルバムを聴いた覚えがあります。
期待にたがわない素晴らしいアルバムでした。
