この曲確か記憶では、2度に渡って「全米トップ40」に入ってきたな〜というのがありました。
調べてみると、やっぱりそうで、1度めは1982年、この曲をアルバム名に冠した彼女たちの9枚目のアルバム「So Excited!」からのシングルカットで、この時はHot100で最高位は30位でした。
そして、2度目ですが2年後の1984年。ポインター・シスターズは1983年に10枚目のアルバム「Break Out」をリリースしましたが、その翌年に「I'm So Excited」をリミックスして収録。（1983年のオリジナル盤収録の"Nightline"に差し替え、曲順も変えて）アルバム「Break Out」は再リリースされ、“I'm So Excited”はリミックバージョンが、トップ10に入りました!！
